impatience?

I suspect backtesting would have given me a more information on this. Waiting would have turned this into a bigger winner.

Ah, I'm reminded that the rule is to allow the trade to close back inside the box and then to retake the trade when it comes back out of the box.

EURUSD MAcc update 2

Pending orders expired. Instead of returning to the weekly pivot, it continued on its previous trend. Oh well.

Breakeven on GBPJPY breakout

Couldn't watch this as carefully as I wanted because I would have closed it a little earlier after it failed to gain any altitude. Wound up a little over breakeven. Oh well. Satisfied with everything but the profit target.

GBPJPY consolidation

Here we have consolidation on the 15 min GBPJPY chart. Take the trade in the direction of the close outside of the box. Stop inside the box. Target? The box here is about 50 pips wide so there will be a tight stop--50 pips? More backtesting, please.

Limit orders in place. 50 pip targets/30 pip stops.

Stumble on GBPJPY

GBPJPY did hit 150 but I managed the trade badly. By adding a last trade near the end (I didn't pay close enough attention to the fact that a round number point was coming up), I became risk adverse and was then trying to protect against a larger loss that might have occurred if resistance had really kicked in. I wound up closing the trade myself rather than allowing it to run. Clearly, had I allowed it to run it would have been ok and hit its target.

Lessons: know where you are. Keep your original trade idea in mind and don't start making it up as you go along.

Note on the GBPJPY trend trade--doesn't look as it they will fire. Still time but I'm doubtful. No biggie.

EURUSD MAcc update

So one trade triggered and stopped out--but that's ok. Really, the risk is in having all of them trigger and fail to hit their target. Not too bothered by this one.

in a jam?

We seem to be stalling at the 150 level. I'd like to just go to sleep now--but that means I should attach stops to everything and I have. That will minimize any losses but was this the right choice?

GBPUSD Trend trade

Looking for break of R3/S3 levels.

EURUSD Monday accelerator

Ok, Monday accelerator back to the weekly pivot is in play--although I'm not targeting the the full weekly pivot. Need to do some backtesting on this one.

maybe not--but now can it get to 150?

late entry?

Ok, GBPJPY hits a support level and is sort of flailing around here. Now I entered this based on a flag pattern breakout but the question is, did I wait too long to do so?

Thinking about fx trading

So, how to start this? How to do this in a way that encourages learning rather than simply a win/loss record?
